Fateh Burj is a historical minar which is located in the village of Chappar Chiri at SAS Nagar Mohali. This minar was estabilished on 30 November 2011 to mark the third centenary of the historical battle of Chapparchiri. The village is situated along Kharar Banur Road outside the mohali a few kilometres away from Landran.
History Behind Fateh Burj
Back in 1710 Bandha Singh Bahadur fought a battle against Wazir Khan who was a commander (subedar) of the Mughal army at time of battle. His plan was to stop the sikh army which was being led by Banda Singh Bahadur. In this battle the Khalsa estabilished the first khalsa reign by taking revenge of the matyrdom of younger Sahibzadas of the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. Banda Singh Bahadur taught a lesson to Wazir Khan who killed younger Sahibzadas.
The Fateh Burj minar or tower is 328 ft tall which symbolizes to the establishment of the Sikh Misls in large part of India back in 1711. The Burj has total three stories at 67 feet, 117 feet and 220 feet. The 328 feet high burj is the tallest towers in India. The significance of the first storey marks the victory of Samana, second storey for the victory of Sadhaura and the third storey for Sirhind fought at Chapparchiri. The place depicts the war scene of that time. The statues of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and his five generals who are commanding the army while standing on the mounds are built there all across the garden. The view of SAS Nagar and the complex is worth watching form these towers. Also, the view of the glowing tower at night is superb.
The Historical place Fateh Burj is a worth visiting place in Mohali. The visiting hours of the burj is from 10 to 8 A.M. Visit this place at the time of sunset and sunrise. The effect of the sunlight around the monument makes it look immensely beautiful.
