Summer season is almost there and the temperature has already begun to increase day by day. This season is great for many things that we can enjoy such as chilled drinks, smoothies, fruit popsicles, ice-creams, sundaes, frozen yogurt, summer dresses, travelling, water parks and some like to spend time on beaches etc. But with all these fun things, it also brings with it some problems related to hair or skin damage which need to be taken care of. Due to scorching heat we tend to sweat a lot during this season, which attracts a lot of dirt and impurities on the scalp. To top it up, we also use heat products which make our hair frizzier. Summer is a time to go out and show your beautiful and shiny hair, not hiding the frizziness behind the scarf all the time. Apart from our skin, our hair also needs proper care from the scorching summer’s heat. The following are some ways to naturally protect your hair from sun damage.
Avoid Too Many Products – The scorching heat during the summers season already dries your hair and causes damage to them. Avoid too much chemical hair treatments or colouring in summers. If you want to go for such hair treatments do it a month or two before the season arrives.
Night Treatment – Night treatment is also good to tame those dry and frizzy hair. Apply a good quality leave-in-conditioner to the damaged parts of hair, wrap it in a towel or shower cap and leave it overnight to dry. Wake up with tamed and lustrous hair. The people who love to use home remedies can make a mask by taking equal parts of yogurt & mayo and 1 egg white and mix it together. Apply it for ½ an hour and rinse with normal water.
Shampoo Less Often – During summers the hair scalp gets sweaty due to which it attracts dust and impurities. To get rid of it we began shampooing our hair daily which strips your scalp its natural oils which further stimulates additional oil production and makes the need to wash it even more. If you want to get rid of the oiliness try showering it daily without using shampoo. If your scalp is super oily use natural dry shampoos instead of regular shampoos to go longer without shampoos.
Say No To Heat Products – There is already so much heat due to the temperature rising so high then what is the need of using heating products during this season. The use of these products will damage your hair even more.
Hot Oil Treatment – Hot oil Treatment is the oldest and one of the best natural hair repair treatments for hair damage. Natural oils like avocado oil, coconut oil or olive oil absorbs easily into your scalp. Use more of these after shampooing your hair from quarter ends to roots. Rinse it properly and use conditioner to make them soft & hydrated.
Swimming – During summers we all love going for swimming to keep ourselves cool. When you are going swimming do not wash your hair before swimming as it will harm your hair of all protective oils. After swimming take a quick shower and use shampoo which contains ethylene tetra acetic acid that will remove the harmful effects of chlorinated water of the pool.
Comb them Properly – Combing your properly makes a big difference when it comes to hair care treatment. Avoid brushing your hair when they are wet as then they are more vulnerable to breakage. Use wide tooth combs for untangling your hair, they are gentler. To control fuzziness tie you hair up in ponytails, braids, knots or buns. These up dos controls fuzziness and sweatiness.
Apart from this, use beautiful summer trendy scarfs to cover your hair from direct heat, trim them regularly, drink lots of water and take care of your diet. These are some of the natural tips to protect your hair from scorching heat.
